FAQ
Q. How long is treatment?
A.
This, of course, depends on which treatment is given. Initial visits are commonly one and one-half to two hours. Our appointments generally run on-time so that little time is spent in the waiting area.
Q. What is the cost of treatment?
A.
This, of course, depends on what is needed. Our insurance experts will be glad to verify and assist you with any health insurance you have in order to determine your out-of-pocket expense. We do work with plans that are out-of-network.
Q. Dr. Young is a D.A.B.C.O. - What is a DABCO?
A.
D.A.B.C.O. stands for Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists. This is also referred to as a Chiropractic Orthopedist and as Board Certified in Chiropractic Orthopedics. This degree requires approximately 400 hours of study beyond the basic Chiropractic degree (D.C.) and the passing of a very difficult, two day exam at the conclusion of this multi-year program. This is a degree held by fewer than 1% of all Chiropractors. Some of the additional education in the program includes the diagnosis of musculoskeletal and nerve disorders, sports injuries, arthritic disorders, and MRI evaluation.
Q. What is P.I.N.S. therapy?
A.
This is a relatively new technique whereby acupuncture needles and electric current are used to infuse a natural substance into a joint, muscle, or ligament to cause the body to strengthen or heal it. Dr. Young performs PINS therapy.
Q. How is P.I.N.S. therapy different from Prolotherapy?
A.
With prolotherapy the substance (proliferant) is “injected” through a hollow needle (syringe). With Percutaneous Iontophoretic Needle Stimulation (PINS) a substance is “infused” through a solid acupuncture needle. Find out more by
